Health spa with a plus in Fitness - sport, exercise and fun

Piešťany offers you many opportunities to stay active and sporty when on a health or wellness holiday. Live out the joy of movement and really get to know the nature and people of Slovakia along the way.

Active Holidays

Piešťany is a health spa paradise with a little bit extra – extra sport and extra entertainment!

Spa guests, active holidaymakers and those seeking relaxation will find everything here that they could wish for. You certainly will, too!

What are you looking for?

Golf

Piešťany is not only a spa town, but it’s also a golfing town. Right on the Spa Island is the Golf & Country Club 9-hole course. Beginners and professionals alike are welcome to try out the greens, water hazards and sand bunkers. The club is well equipped with:

- a driving range

- a putting area

- a chipping area

- indoor simulators

You can book lessons and let your gaze wander across the golf course after the game from the club restaurant’s sun terrace.

Horse Riding

Conquer the surroundings of Piešťany on horseback. The riding school in the northern part of town provides horses, bridles, saddles and great tips for your riding tour. They also offer riding lessons with horses and ponies.

Acupressure Path

Take off your shoes and walk barefoot over the gravel stones. The acupressure path is behind the Kursalon and is guaranteed to really massage the soles of your feet.

Bowling

You don’t have to give a top athletic performance when bowling. It’s all about the fun of the game. And that’s guaranteed whenever you’re rolling the ball down one of the eight lanes at the Victoria Bowling Centre. Every Friday and Saturday there is also disco bowling. There are billiard tables and dart boards available.

Outdoor Fitness

Work out in the open air on the various pieces of equipment provided at the outdoor fitness area along the Dubová stream free of charge. Strengthen your hip and abdominal muscles, tone your chest muscles, practise rowing on dry land, or balance on the bars.

River Cruises

The cruise ship is waiting for you by the Colonnade Bridge. Travel up to the reservoir dam, enjoy the water, the birds and the fresh air.

Trips

Piešťany is conveniently located for exploring the surrounding area. The lakes of Drahovce are only six kilometres away. It is also not that far to the flooded gravel pits at Horná Streda, in which you can go swimming. Visit Elisabeth Báthory’s castle in Čachtice or take a trip to the Bacchus Villa.

Tennis

Piešťany is a mecca for tennis and home to well-known tennis stars such as Magdalena Rybarikova, Dominika Cibulková and Lukáš Lacko and has occasionally hosted major tennis tournaments. Tennis courts are therefore in plentiful supply. The tennis club near the Spa Island has 11 clay and two hard courts as well as two indoor courts with synthetically-coated surfaces. Behind the Eva Outdoor Pool on the Spa Island you’ll find two more clay courts.

Squash

The Piešťany squash club offers four air-conditioned squash halls. Equipment can be borrowed locally. The club is equipped with a sauna, solarium and table tennis room and offers massages.

Winter Sports

In winter you certainly won’t be bored in Piešťany. Go skiing or take advantage of the town's indoor sports halls and facilities. The ski resorts of Bezovec and Kálnica are only 30 kilometres away. Bezovec offers five ski lifts and pistes, which are also open in the evening. You can go ice skating at the town’s ice rink and on the surrounding lakes, if the temperature permits.

Water Sports

The Síňava water reservoir is a real paradise for water sports enthusiasts. You can water ski, wakeboard, surf, row or do some sailing. Fans of fishing will also get their money’s worth. The reservoir is rich with many different kinds of fish. While fishing you’ll have enough time to watch the birds. On the bird island in the lake rare bird species make their nest, such as the gray gull. Incidentally, you may also fish in the Váh.

Cycling and Inline Skating

Hit the road by bike as you head to Piešťany’s surrounding area and discover the most beautiful corners of western Slovakia. Take advantage of the various cycle paths, such as the circular route around the Sĺňava water reservoir. The entire route is asphalted (paved) and is therefore absolutely ideal for inline skating. Also highly recommended is the Dubová cycle path. It goes along the Dubová stream and passes by the outdoor fitness area.

Hiking and Nordic Walking

Various marked trails lead you out of Piešťany and right into the middle of the natural landscape surrounding the city. In general, the routes are moderately challenging and offer attractive destinations and milestones, like the ruins of Tematín Castle. Enjoy spectacular views of the Váh valley, caves, forests, meadows, vineyards and hills when walking along these trails. Fresh air, birds twittering and untouched nature transform hiking around Piešťany into an experience for body and soul.

Street Workout

You’ll find one of the biggest and best street workout parks on Vážska Street at the Krajinský Bridge. Here it’s all about training with your own body weight. The individual training stations were designed by street workout athletes and demand a lot of flexibility and strength.

Funny Park

The Funny Park is an absolute highlight for both children and adults. Similar to a bouncy castle, all the fun happens on inflatable shark- and water slides. Swimming pools of various sizes, a sandy beach, a volleyball court, a pool with small boats in the form of cars and enough sun loungers to go around are all available. The aqua park’s beach bar supplies every guest (big or small) with food and drink, so that nothing stands in the way of lively amusement and fun.

Culinary

If you need a break in between from your holiday or course of spa treatment, Piešťany has plenty of coffee houses, ice cream parlours, terrace cafés and restaurants to offer. Sit down, let yourself be treated to Slovak delicacies and watch the hustle and bustle of the town. In the evening, the music venues and night clubs throw open their doors.
